I am only thankful that I have other options, but I got this new computer hoping to make my computer life better. It has only complicated it. I have tried removing the updates, reseting the winsock files, reset the internet explorer to its original settings. I have done the network diagnosis nothing found.
God only knows what functions I have fooled with on this computer. What else to do? I am presently trying to restore to a point a few days prior to all of these downloads from Microsoft. I had been trying to remove what do you call a midday meal update at a time, and this restore helped to get rid of all those updates in one task.
I am back online, but still frustrated with some other issues that go to another microsoft program, but have not had the time to explore that issue yet.

Was this issue after an update was applied. Can you tell us more about what was done prior to this not working and what you have done tp I guess you inernet tell by now, that I have fiddled with too many things. I did take OFF the protected mode of the browser As I mentioned earlier, I finally just did a system restore before this pack of updates were installed. I am back on the internet, but still a bit concerned and hesitant fo trust these suggestions from Microsoft.
True, you did not state anything about uninstalling my antivirus application, but it was causing so many other distractions, and I felt that if I got rid of that, it would be one less thing to consider. Once I removed that automatic install, I was back on the internet again. I wish I was near that computer to list integnet these updates, but unfortanately I am away from it now. I really wanted to isolate that the problem was coming from Windows - not that other program. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with security updates.
